Cookie notice

Last updated: 4 September 2026 · Effective from 4 September 2026

1. The short version

This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics package, no advertising script, no social widget, no tag manager and no notification service. One value is written to your browser’s local storage, and only after you answer the bar at the foot of the page.

2. What is actually stored on your device

Everything RuneRecap writes to a browser
Name Category Purpose Duration Party
rr.notice.2026 Local storage, strictly functional Remembers which button you pressed on the notice bar so the bar stops reappearing on every page. Until you clear site data in your browser First party (this site)

That single entry holds the word accepted or the word declined. It contains no identifier, is never read by any script other than this site’s own, and is never sent anywhere. Local storage stays on your device; unlike a cookie it is not attached to requests.

Before you press either button, nothing at all is written: local storage, session storage and IndexedDB are empty on a first visit. Pressing either button writes exactly one entry, and no other key is ever created.

3. Why both buttons behave the same way

On many sites a decline button switches off tracking. Here there is nothing to switch off, so both buttons do the same thing: they record your answer and dismiss the bar. Saying that plainly seemed better than presenting a choice that has no effect.

4. The content delivery network

Pages are delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which sits in front of the site as a content delivery and security layer. Cloudflare may use technical mechanisms at the network level — including, in some configurations, its own identifiers — to keep the service available and to filter abusive traffic. Those mechanisms are not chosen or configured by this site for measurement, and no reader profile is built from them. The technical data involved is described in the privacy policy.

5. Nothing else is loaded

  • No fonts are requested from an outside service; the two typefaces are files on this server.
  • No video, map or social embed appears on any page.
  • No pixel, beacon or conversion tag is placed by this site.

6. Removing the stored value

Clearing site data for runerecap.com in your browser removes the entry immediately. In most desktop browsers that lives under privacy or site settings; on Android it is usually under site settings for the individual site. The next time you open a page the bar will appear again, which is the expected behaviour rather than a fault. You may also block local storage for this site altogether — the pages work normally without it, and the bar will simply appear on every visit.

7. Changes to this notice

If anything about the site’s storage changes, this page and the table above are updated, and the date at the top changes with them.
